A Documentary – Making A Killing – The Untold Story of Psychotropic Drugging

Making a Killing DVD

“Psychotropic drugs. It’s the story of big money–drugs that fuel a $330
billion psychiatric industry, without a single cure.  The cost in human
terms is even greater–these drugs now kill an estimated 42,000 people
every year.  And the death count keeps rising.  Containing more than
175 interviews with lawyers, mental health experts, the families of victims
and the survivors themselves, this riveting documentary rips the mask
off psychotropic drugging and exposes a brutal but well-entrenched
money-making machine.”

The facts are hard to believe, but fatal to ignore.

Big Pharma is making a killing by pushing their psychotropic drugs down millions of individual’s throats from antidepressants to antipsychotics to psychostimulants for ADHD.   Let’s not forget those hypnotic sleeping pills, too.

What mental illness do you have this week?  Not doing your homework?  Agitated because you quit smoking?  Or perhaps you just are a teenager and you feel that everyone else is better looking than you.  You name it they have a diagnosis waiting for you and a matching pill in just the right color.

Spread this article to everyone you know so that everyone gets the raw truth in the DVD, “A Documentary – Making A Killing – The Untold Story of Psychotropic Drugging” which is presented by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights.

I am confused and amazed at this display. I have fought bi-polar disorder for 6 years and this video horrifies me beyond words. I am fighting for my life right now — I cannot write, think, work or care for my family when my “episodes” arise: yet my MEDS are not necessary? So, tell me, what do I do? I have my liver checked every 3 months, I have all my vital organs as a matter of fact checked every three months via BLOOD WORK to ensure the MEDS are not distroying them. This is a travesity to those of us who pray for the day we can STOP the pendulum swinging with our moods and STOP taking the drugs to help the emotions go haywire! Yes, I pray every day, I have faith, I get on my knees I beg God my father to cure me of this demon in my brain. So, what is your solution since you denounce the medical profession? Whoever did this video, you might want to REALLY reassess your work. You either have no idea what you are talking about or love getting on WEBMd and playing doctor because you have nother better to do and as for your interviewees, they seem to be a bit bitter, hmmmm? Fired maybe? Something is NOT adding up. Obviously, YOU haven’t experienced the HELL I have and have put my family through with my nonreal problem that does not need medication. I am sure the whole group will just love you for your assessment.

    Hello, Tess,

I understand your frustration and the fortitude you must have to endure Bipolar Disorder. I am not sure which video you viewed today. Most of the videos address psychiatric drugs as a whole and a bit about the industry, but I will address Bipolar Disorder.

Did you know that Bipolar Disorder is actually viewed differently by the medical doctors and the psychiatrists? The MDs believe it stems from a chemical imbalance and the psychiatrists believe it is due to a biological brain disorder. When will they at least get on the same page?

It is my understanding that if either of the professions had any concrete evidence of what caused it they would be able to agree how to fix it, but they do not know. So they throw some drugs at people keeping them drugged enough not to feel much of anything and adding a list of side effects to the already complex list of symtoms.

If you look at the history of Bipolar Disorder you will not find any one person or organization that has given anyone a test to determine that they have the disorder. Therefore it is my strong belief that any of a number of things could be causing this behavior. Doctors seldom exhaust their resources before diagosing this disorder. I had a simlar experience when I had hyperthyroidism. Before I was diagnosed the MDs and endocrinologists all thought I should take some antidepressants or take a long vacation. I had to go from doctor to doctor and beg for them to retest my thyroid. Finally, after 2 years of this, a doctor tested me and found out I had Grave’s and Hoshimoto’s Disease. Thank goodness I didn’t listen to them and that I did my own research online. One doctor agreed with me, but then sent me to a specialist who refused to test me for the antibody and said that I didn’t have anything wrong with my thyroid. Thank goodness I didn’t take any drugs that would have masked my symptoms. Otherwise I might not have ever found out what was wrong. This is a very common occurence.

As far as the video goes, I am not the author, but I wish I was. I agree with it. If you knew what I knew about the psychiatric industry you would agree, as well. I do not believe the people in the video are bitter about an x-job. I believe it is the way our world operates now a days. Since when do we have that many psychiatric diagnosis? There is even a psychiatric diagnosis now for not doing your homework! Since when do we have majority of our population on psychiatric drugs?

How many elderly people and small children had to suffer and/or die from the side effects of Zyprexa before it stopped? Eli Lilly just pleaded guilty and now has to pay over 1 billion dollars. Gee, their profits were over 3 billion. What does that tell me? It tells me that it does not pay for them to stop hurting people. My mother died from Zyprexa. She was elderly and every time they gave it to her she would crawl on the floor like an infant and couldn’t swallow her food well. The food got into her lungs and caused pneumonia symptoms. She couldn’t breath one night and died of a heart attack.

A great book to read if you wish a natural alternative treatment is “A Natural Medicine Guide to Bipolar Disorder” (The Healthy Mind Guides) by Stephanie Marohn.

This blog is all about alternative treatments. That is my readership. Why take psychotropic drugs that may cause dependency or addiction if there is a safer alternative out there? If that is not something you are seeking then I am afraid you have come to the wrong place.

I wish you luck in your future.

    HELP!
I have a son, age 9 who is very creative and a very intelligent young man, a verbal IQ of over 140. He has been diagnosed with BI-Polar and ADHD. He is on Seroquel. I am afraid of it but am afraid to ake him of of ot. Fluvoximine seemed to work well with him but he claimed the drug made him have terrible thoughts of hurtign people. I wnat to help this child who seems to fucntion well on less than 6 hours of sleep a night. He is home schooled and wnats to go to regular school but was abused by his teacher in second grade and harressed by his principal; to my son’s credit he would out wit them in a socratic like method and this drove teh principal to wnat to put him on an IEP for an ED class room. I saw through her fear of in intellect and I jsut pulled him out to home school him. He has becoem very controlling and very agressive toward me. I knwo he is mad at beign home schoole dbut i feel I have no choice until I fidn a better school be it private or charter.
I want his moods stabilzed so badly. What do I do if medication is going to make another problem?

  6. araminta Says:

    One more thought.
I think that the Seroquel , that he has bene on now for more than a month, is causing very defiant and agressive behavior. He was on Clonidine to help him sleep. His dad and I took him off of the clonidine as we feared dependency.
Is it comon for Seoquel to cause agression in children diagnosed with BI-Polar?

  11. Dave MacDonald Says:

Hi Tess, araminta & Robert, I was just wondering if you have had any more help ?

On the weekend some of my friends watched the DVD ” Making A Killing – The Untold Story of Psychotropic Drugging” and I came accross the website while doing a google search trying to find a place to buy it.

My father (83yrs) has suffered from Parkinsons disease for 8 years and has been on some heavy drugs with serious side effects – on a number of occasions he tried to assault my mum thinking she was a stranger – it has been quite a traumatic time for us all (to say the least).

I just know that the drug industry is only about making money and they are NOT there to help, my advise to anyone is STAY CLEAR of any drugs and look for natural alternative medicines.

If you need any help, prayer or advise please send me a mail: davidmacdonald@freenet.co.uk

The main thing is that there is ALWAYS hope – no matter what you might think or others might say.

Would be good to hear from you and I can try and see what I can do or how I can help.

Kind regards and best wishes, Dave.

I am coming out of a 20+ year psychiatric “help” run around & did I ever get the run around. I tried my best went to all appointments took different cocktails saw more “healthcare” providers than I care to remember leaving my current life in a state of ineffective functioning. thats my personal bad news.

The good news is that I’m learning about and applying digestive tract healing and sound nutritive practice. The initial results in a short 3.5 weeks is encouraging. I am thinking more clearly, sleeping better and for the first time since childhood have felt well not only physically but mentally also.

Looking forward now in stead of being afraid to wake up and face life. The Psychiatric “care” Industry is a pitiful preying monster that I’ve dropped like a bad drug habit.

Yes holistic health is where its at. Psychiatry is a conundrum based on mysteries wrapped within an overpriced funhouse/ circus act show with distorted mirrors, bouncy rooms and slides without an exit. The exception is the individual deciding to get well, realizing that little pills aren’t magical, and seeking health by their own effort instead of pretending to be better by med.- numbing the symptoms. Healing the physical body first is in my opinion likely the core factor in feeling well and necessary in order to pursue life with purpose.

Here’s to health. If this sounds interesting to you. Here’s a good start. Truehope.com. They are helping me heal. Great program. I highly recommend! six plus stars out of 5!

  13. Chris Says:

I went to “Oceanside Treatment Center” Juno Beach, Florida. Recovery Resources Inc Alcohol rehabilitation in Palm beach Fl. They have this Quackery called Dual diagnosis. I became a zyprexa victim. When I stopped taking it months of the sickness from hell began 1000 times worse than excessive beer drinking disease disorder. Seroquel and Risperdal (Risperidone) are also regulary used to Cure “excessive beer drinking disease” disorder by this place.

I was never given Informed consent to treatment before taking this poison ! I didn’t know .

There is no more fundamental human right than the right to bodily integrity. A hallmark of most legal systems is that innocent people are protected from anything happening to their own body without their consent. According to an article in the DePaul Journal of Health Care Law: “True consent to what happens to one’s self is the informed exercise of choice, and that entails an opportunity to evaluate knowledgeably the options available and the risks attendant upon each.”
