A Documentary – Making A Killing – The Untold Story of Psychotropic Drugging

Making a Killing DVD

“Psychotropic drugs. It’s the story of big money–drugs that fuel a $330
billion psychiatric industry, without a single cure.  The cost in human
terms is even greater–these drugs now kill an estimated 42,000 people
every year.  And the death count keeps rising.  Containing more than
175 interviews with lawyers, mental health experts, the families of victims
and the survivors themselves, this riveting documentary rips the mask
off psychotropic drugging and exposes a brutal but well-entrenched
money-making machine.”

The facts are hard to believe, but fatal to ignore.

Big Pharma is making a killing by pushing their psychotropic drugs down millions of individual’s throats from antidepressants to antipsychotics to psychostimulants for ADHD.   Let’s not forget those hypnotic sleeping pills, too.

What mental illness do you have this week?  Not doing your homework?  Agitated because you quit smoking?  Or perhaps you just are a teenager and you feel that everyone else is better looking than you.  You name it they have a diagnosis waiting for you and a matching pill in just the right color.

Dangers of Prochlorperazine for Morning Sickness and Chemo Patients

“It has come to my attention that one of the latest rages is to prescribe a drug called Prochlorperazine (marketed under the names Compazine, Buccastem, Stemetil and Phenotil) to pregnant women and chemo patients as a so-called treatment for morning sickness and nausea.

Don’t take that stuff! Prochlorperazine is just another phenothiazine. This class of drugs starting with Thorazine which was first sold in the US in 1954 as a “chemical lobotomy” by Smith Kline. Psychiatrists at the time couldn’t distinguish between people on Thorazine and people who had been lobotomized. Read the rest of this entry »

Government to Test Moms for Baby Blues – a Sad Story

Pregnant and new mothers may be required to submit to government screening and treatment for depression if Democrats in Congress have their way.

The Melanie Blocker Stokes Mother’s Act, or S. 1375, is named after a pharmaceutical sales manager who killed herself by jumping out of a window after receiving four cocktails of antidepressants, anti-anxiety and antipsychotic drugs and electroshock therapy following the birth of her child.

The Mother’s Act would provide federal funding for a program to test women for depression, mood and anxiety disorders and postpartum psychosis. It would also supply government-determined “at-risk” mothers with antidepressant drugs.

Amy’s shocking story

Amy Philo, founder of United Nonprofits and Individuals for Truth and Ethics (UNITE) and co-founder of Children and Adults Against Drugging America, has testified in Food and Drug Administration hearings on antidepressants. She strongly opposes the act because she says the drugs nearly ruined her life following delivery of her first child. Read the rest of this entry »

Senate kills massive bill to create new programs

The Mother’s Act (a bill that would inevitably land pregnant and new mother’s on psychiatric medications).

WASHINGTON (Associated Press) — The Senate has killed a massive bill to create programs for probing civil rights crimes, combating child pornography and supposedly help new mothers overcome depression. Read the rest of this entry »

Mother’s Act: Is it a Violation of Informed Consent?

The Mother’s Act is the screening of pregnant women for any signs of mental illness, prior to giving birth and after birth.  The bill mandates use of the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), shown to triple the number of women “diagnosed.”  The first question on the EPDS test is “I have been able to laugh and see the funny side of things.”  If a mother cannot laugh and see the funny side of things perhaps it is due to lack of sleep, (which will eventually improve), hormonal imbalances that can be addressed by the doctor or thyroid problems for which new mother’s should be regularly screened.  Mothers and family members should be educated on what to expect from being a new mother not drugged which results in additional mental and physical symptoms.   Read the rest of this entry »
